Beware Facebook users; cheating with your insurance company, office, colleagues, friends and relatives for some benefits has never been easy as before. Your Facebook account may reveal such information and you could be caught.

The latest example is Nathalie Blanchard, 29; who was receiving monthly benefits from her insurance company, Manulife. She took long-term leave from her job at IBM in Bromont, Quebec, Canada more than a year ago for severe depression.

But, learning from several past fraudulent claims, insurance company today does extensive research while settling the claim.  Even a genuine claim is also settled after a long research.

The insurance company, Manulife, found several pictures of her smiling in bikini at the beach on Facebook. After that, the company cut her monthly health benefits for depression.

FACEBOOK can be a double-edged sword, a Canadian woman learned when an insurance company cut her health benefits.

She said that Manulife cited several pictures Ms Blanchard had posted on her social networking website page, including some showing her enjoying herself during a male strip-tease show at a Chippendales bar, celebrating her birthday and bathing in the sun.

Based on the pictures posted on the Facebook, the insurance company claimed that Ms Blanchard was no longer depressed.

The company did recognize that it uses such information to learn more about their clients.
