Twitter has certainly given a new scope for invention to companies. From scales that Tweet to Twitter powered popcorn machines, we are moving towards another level of engagement with Twitter. To my surprise I find such products being made quite often then I had imagine. Today I came across shoes that would tweet your move. Developed by Ricardo Nascimento and Tiago Martins, these pair of sneakers called Rambler would post an update on Twitter on every step of yours.
About the usage of the shoes the website said that the project was actually a move to criticize the useless updates people post on the microblogging site.
Everyone that uses the microblog service notice the massive amount of useless information that is spread over there. This project intent to criticize this by posting literally every step you take in real life.
There is a sensor embedded under the sole which detects when the person is walking and sends this information to a mobile using Bluetooth which would post the update on twitter. Detecting a certain amount of pressure, the sensor sends an update “Step”. When there is no pressure on the sensor, the update posted is “.”
I am quite amazed at the things people are coming up with to do on Twitter. Just like being on Twitter had become a fad sometime back, I think the recent fad is making Twitter powered products.
